A huge tragedy for which justice is now being demanded. Aissatou Bah, 24 years old born in Guinea, but living in Monteroni for a few months, died two days ago, last June 14 at the Vito Fazzi hospital in Lecce. An absurd death, according to the husband unjust and for which not enough has been done and for this reason, now it is the same man who wants to see clearly. The woman’s husband also lost what should have been her daughter, because his wife had an abortion in the fourth month of pregnancy, before she died. The story is clear, as well as full of dark sides. The victim, after numerous requests for intervention, was hospitalized in the gynecology department of the Lecce hospital, where the doctors allegedly had her aborted. The 24-year-old passed away shortly after. The husband turned to some lawyers in the hope that the judiciary could open a file to clarify the incident.
According to the man’s complaint, presented directly to the police station, the woman in recent weeks was not well: she complained of nausea, vomiting and lack of appetite. In this period, moreover, on three occasions the intervention of 118 was requested, but the health personnel had reassured her by claiming that it was the classic ailments connected to pregnancy. After yet another call to 118, on 25 May the 24-year-old was hospitalized for more detailed checks. However, her condition progressively worsened until June 10, when the doctors decided to have her aborted to save her life. The attempt was unsuccessful, as the woman’s conditions plummeted and led to her death. The husband, as mentioned, now asks for justice and has filed a complaint. The study to which he addressed has already acquired the clinical documentation, relating to the hospitalization of the woman, to submit it to its own experts and will provide a biased coroner in the desired case in which the judiciary orders an autopsy report.
