The Great Metropolitan Hospital of Reggio Calabria, through a press release, specifies the items relating to an urgent transfer to the Baby Jesus of Rome for a little patient positive at Covid. Several newspapers reported the news associating it with a lack of beds.
The little girl was absolutely not in a life-threatening clinical condition.
The news about the lack of a bed in the Pediatric ward which, on the other hand, was being prepared with the necessary safeguards being the small Covid positive, does not answer the truth.
The relatives refused to carry out specific radiological tests, insistently asking to transfer the baby to the “Bambin Gesù” in Rome because – according to them – they were expected there in the evening.
No GOM doctor ordered the transfer to another hospital as there were no reasons.
The relatives left the emergency room on their own and were accompanied, by relay of the police forces, to the “Bambin Gesù” in Rome where the child was followed for some time for “respiratory interstitial disease”.
In addition to the small, parents also tested positive for Covid who, with their behavior, did not allow the application of the procedures provided for by the current regulations on the matter.
